No Spend March
As I mentioned in my 24 for 24 post I didn't save what I need last year for a kitchen, but can't live with my current kitchen for much longer.
So drastic times take drastic measures. To be fair cutting down spending for one month is hardly drastic.
Some rules:
❌ No shop bought coffee (not that I do this very often)
❌ No wine. Okay, I do stock up on red wine fairly often, so this should make a dent
❌ No skincare or makeup (I have all the skincare I could possibly need)
❌ No haircare (see above)
❌ No clothes. To be fair this should be easy, as I don't have my eye on anything.
❌ No house trinkets
❌ No films, series, or books (the library is my friend)
❌ No second-hand shops (too tempting!)
❌ No plant stuff
❌ No travel (in March)
❌ No treats (which for me means Tesco's dried banana, the smoked almonds and dried cling peaches from M&S, and bilton)
✅ Things I committed to previously (Like Isla, or Mousetrap or a friend's birthday)
✅ Major house tasks or repairs (like restoring the gas, or hanging shelves)
A tip I picked up from the Happier in Hollywood podcast is to write items down if I feel like buying them (or think I need them). Then at the end of the month I can review, and see if there is anything I actually need or if the urge will have faded by then.
With me luck!
